-Nicole Delacroix (Main songwriting, piano, lead et ryhtm bass, clean vocals, orchestration) : avec 13 ans d'études de solfège, de basse et de piano derrière elle, elle a commencé à composer des morceaux de doom metal avec la basse électrique il y a environ 6 ans. Elle s'est particulièrement passionnée pour le sous-genre "funeral doom" en 2016, inspirée par des groupes tels que Funeral, Ahab, Mournful Congregation et Remembrance. Avec le temps, elle a ressenti le besoin de donner un contexte à ses créations en fondant un duo du même genre avec Jacopo Marinelli, en 2018, mais en enrichissant les morceaux de lignes orchestrales et d'une touche atmosphérique infusée.
-Jacopo Marinelli (Side songwriting, vocals, spoken, lyrics) : développe les techniques de growl autodidacte vers 2010 pour donner vie à son propre groupe, et commence à chanter dans des groupes locaux jusqu'à la fondation d'Abeyance (melodic death metal) et Esogenesi (doom/death Metal) en 2016, dans lesquels il tient toujours le rôle de vocaliste.
Lui aussi attiré par les sons oppressants et décadents du funeral doom, appréciant des réalités comme Shape of Despair, Skepticism, Nortt et Bell Witch, décide de participer à la fondation d'Eurynome avec Nicole, où il s'occupe de certaines parties secondaires des compositions de basse, du chant et des paroles.
Leur histoire
" Formé à la mi-2018, l'objectif était de créer un projet Funeral Doom aux sonorités particulières en utilisant uniquement des basses électriques. Toutes les compositions, instruments et orchestrations ont été réglées et enregistrées à 436 Hz, afin de donner au son une tendance décadente et plus mélancolique (la norme dans la musique moderne est de 440 Hz).
Cet expédient a été inspiré par l'accordage des instruments dans les années 1800, où la plupart du temps ils étaient accordés à cette fréquence pour des raisons mécaniques.
Le groupe a toujours été destiné à être un duo, Nicole Delacroix et Jacopo Marinelli, qui se sont rencontrés grâce à des amis communs en 2016. Pour le moment, nous ne prévoyons pas d'étendre le projet avec de nouveaux musiciens. "

À Propos Du Nom
"C'est le nom d'une ancienne divinité grecque qui a créé l'Univers, mais qui est devenue plus tard la déesse des enfers.
Dans nos chansons, elle est en colère contre les humains qui ont ruiné son cadeau, la Terre. Pour cela, elle ne nous répond plus, et nous sommes obligés de mener nos propres funérailles."

Influences musicales
" Principalement des groupes similaires à nous, qui ont lancé le genre dans les années 90 : Funeral et Mournful Congregation pour les compositions, Remembrance pour certaines atmosphères symphoniques et Bell Witch pour le son de nos instruments et l'idée d'utiliser uniquement des basses distordues. Nous nous inspirons également de la musique du 19ème siècle, des marches funèbres en particulier (de Chopin, Wagner, Haendel et Beethoven). "

"Un doom metal funéraire du 19ème siècle, avec des influences atmosphériques/orchestrales. Nos compositions sont inspirées par les anciennes sonates et par les marches funèbres, ainsi notre conception du funeral doom est plus antique et romantique, appartenant au style du décadentisme."

-Nicole Delacroix (Main songwriting, piano, lead and ryhtm bass, clean vocals, orchestration) : with 13 years of studying music theory, bass and piano behind her, she began composing doom metal songs with the electric bass about 6 years ago. She particularly developed a passion for the sub-genre «funeral doom» in 2016, inspired by groups such as Funeral, Ahab, Mournful Congregation and Remembrance. Over time she felt the need to give context to her creations by founding a duo of the same genre together with Jacopo Marinelli, in 2018, but enriching the tracks with orchestral lines and an atmospheric-infused touch.
-Jacopo Marinelli (Side songwriting, vocals, spoken, lyrics) : develops the self-taught growl techniques around 2010 to give life to his own band, and starts singing in local bands until the foundation of Abeyance (melodic death metal) and Esogenesi (doom/death Metal) in 2016, in which he still holds the role of vocalist.
He too attracted by the oppressive and decadent sounds of funeral doom, appreciating realities such as Shape of Despair, Skepticism, Nortt and Bell Witch, decides to participate in the foundation of Eurynome together with Nicole, where he takes care of some secondary parts of the bass compositions, the vocals and the lyrics.
Their Story
« Formed in mid-2018, the aim was creating a Funeral Doom project with particular sonarities using only electric basses. All compositions, instruments and orchestrations were set and recorded at 436 Hz, to give the sound a decadent and more melancholy trend (the standard in modern music is 440 Hz).
This expedient was inspired by instruments tuning in the 1800s, when most of the time they were tuned to that frequency for mechanical reasons.
The band always meant to be a duo, Nicole Delacroix and Jacopo Marinelli, who met through mutual friends in 2016. At the moment we don’t plan to expand the project with new musicians. »

About The Name
« It’s the name of an ancient greek deity who created the Universe, but became later the goddess of the underworld.
In our songs, she is angry with humans for ruining her gift, the Earth. For this, she no longer answers us, and we are forced to conduct our own funeral. »

Musical Influences
« Mainly bands similar to us, that started the genre in the 90s: Funeral and Mournful Congregation for the compositions, Remembrance for some symphonic atmospheres and Bell Witch for our instruments' sound and the idea of using only distorted basses. We also take inspiration from the 19th century music, funeral marches in particular (by Chopin, Wagner, Handel and Beethoven). »

« A 19th century funeral doom metal, with atmospheric/orchestral influences. Our compositions are inspired by the ancient sonatas and by funeral marches, so our conception of funeral doom is more antique and romantic, belonging to decadentism's style. »
